Larry W. Van Ess

Larry W. Van Ess, 68, Green Bay, passed away peacefully at the Jack & Engrid Meng Unity Hospice Center Friday, October 18, 2013, after a very short, courageous battle with cancer.
He was born on May 15, 1945, to the late Henry & Adeline (Liebman) Van Ess.
Larry graduated from East High School. On June 10, 1967, he married Jane Kimps.
Larry enjoyed 40 years of creating memories with family and friends at his cabin in Lakewood. He enjoyed snowmobiling, boating, campfires and golfing with his family, friends and especially his four grandsons. He spent every Monday with his grandsons since birth. They lovingly called their grandpa "G Dog."
In his early years he was employed at Northland Bottling. In 1984 he started Van Ess Plumbing Service and retired in 2007.
He is survived by his loving wife Jane; their three sons, Chad (Jennifer), Darren (Lisa) and Kelly; their four grandsons, Derek, Blair, Landin and Brady; He is further survived by one brother, Carmon (Mary); and many other nieces and nephews.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Darlene Zeise; and one brother, Vernon.
Friends may call from 1:00pm until 4:00pm on Monday, October 21, 2013, at SS. Peter and Paul Parish, 710 N. Baird St., Green Bay. A Memorial Mass will be held at 4:00pm on Monday at the church, with Rev. Tony Cirignani, OFM officiating.
In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, a memorial fund has been established in his name.
The family would like to thank Unity Hospice & his brother Carmon and sister-in-law Mary for all their care and concern.
