Kurt Meyer
March 31, 1957 — June 9, 2023
Kurt Dean Meyer, 66, passed away peacefully at his home in Neenah, Wisconsin surrounded by his loving family on June 9, 2023, at 7:30 p.m. after a brave and courageous battle with an illness for two years.
He was born on March 31, 1957, to Eugene and Beverly (Love) Meyer in Hinsdale, Illinois, while he lived his school years in Oshkosh, Wisconsin.
Kurt was an artistic and thoughtful person from a young age and as an adult pursued his passion as a gifted Floral Designer from 1983 to 2014 in Dallas, Texas, where he was employed at a few of Dallas' leading floral shops, including I Love Flowers and Petal and Stems until he moved to his home state of Wisconsin to care for his aging mother until she passed away in July, 2022, during which time he was already ill himself.
Kurt is survived by his 3 siblings: namely, brother, Jan K. (Teresa) Meyer; sister, Dale J. (Meyer) Daly; and sister, Joy L. (Meyer) Metheny. Also, surviving are his niece, Jennifer Meyer and nephew, Shannon Meyer and his children, Braydon Meyer and Greyson Meyer; and nephew, Brian Meyer, son of deceased brother, Lyle J. Meyer.
He is preceded in death by his brother, Lyle J. Meyer; father, Eugene A. Meyer; mother, Beverly J. (Love) Meyer and paternal grandparents, Bill and Bernice (Bohn) Meyer; and maternal grandparents, Edward and Irma (Ganz) Love.
Kurt's family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to his caregivers at Aurora Health Care Oshkosh and to all the staff of Newcomers Hospice in Green Bay, Wisconsin.
In lieu of flowers, anyone wishing to make a donation could direct it to Newcomers Hospice Green Bay in Kurt's name for their compassion and fine work.
While Kurt was a caring, generous and sensitive person, his friends loved him for his sassy sense of humor and brutal honesty. Kurt lived his truth without apology, something people came to respect about him. Connection with his family was very important to Kurt and he never missed a chance to be the uniting force as a family mediator.
