Kenneth E. Whitcomb, 90, of Green Bay, WI., passed away on Thursday, August 19, 2021. He was born on February 3, 1931, in Green Bay, WI to the late Mae Whitcomb.
Ken was a graduate from East High School in Green Bay. On his 18th birthday, he was drafted to serve in the United States Army where he proudly served his country in the Korean War from 1950 until 1953.
Ken had worked for Northwest Engineering and Cruisers Yacht's. Later on he worked for and retired from Georgia-Pacific.
On August 1, 1998, Ken married Robin Murrell. They spent 23 years together.
Ken spent many years coaching men's league baseball in the area. He was also a part of many bowling leagues and was a fantastic bowler. Fishing trips were a big part of what Ken and his wife loved doing together.
Ken was an avid sportsman but he particularly loved his Packers and Brewers.
He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend.
Ken is survived by his wife Robin; children: Cindy (Bob) Luedke, Sandy (Dave) Markiewicz, Candi (Kyle) Voskuil; stepchildren: Shamika Murrell and Demetrus Murrell; grandchildren: Sabrina (Jason), Robert Jr. (Melissa), Bejamin (Katie), Travis (Amanda), Trandon (Amanda), Taylor (Tiffany), Lizzy (Jordan), Ty, Nyles, Shamarr, Shaquinn, Sierra, Marquis, Makai, Mykel, Dion and Avion and many great-grandchilden. He is furthered survived by his caregiver and friend Alex Denny along with family, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Along with his mother Mae, Ken is preceded in death by his former wife MaryEllen; granddaughter Shannon Markiewicz, grandson Robin Markiewicz and his precious and beloved dog, Goliath.
Visitation for Ken will be held on Thursday, August 26, 2021, at Nicolet Memorial Gardens and Mausoleum (2770 Bay Settlement Road, Green Bay, WI 54311) in their chapel from 11:00 AM - 12:30 PM. A Prayer Service will follow at 12:30 PM with full military honors to follow. Entombment will take place following military honors.
