Kenneth "Ken" Bradney, 85, of Green Bay, beloved husband of the late Vitula (Ferry) Bradney, passed away peacefully with his daughter at his side on February 28, 2022.
Ken was born on April 26, 1937 in Quincy, IL son of the late Eugene and Edith Bradney. He enlisted in the U.S. Army National Guard and served over 15 years. He and Vitula met working for the HSHS healthcare system in Springfield, IL at St. John's Memorial Hospital. In 1973 they relocated with their family to Green Bay and worked for St. Vincent Hospital. Ken later retired as a Custodian for the Green Bay Public Schools. In his spare time Ken enjoyed fishing, bowling with his daughter, loved to watch wrestling and trips to the local casinos. Ken was a wonderful family man and was very devoted. He could best be described as a "willful" man who persevered through many challenges and trials in his life but in the end although bruised and battered didn't lose his spirit. He is a man that will not only be remembered but admired for years to come by those who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his daughter, Jenny Van Dreel, and a step-daughter, Vicki (Carl) Bender-Jensen. He also leaves his beloved grandchildren: Johnathon, Evan, David (Crystal), Robert (Susan), Amanda (Chad), Josh, Laura (Shawn), Ricky, and Kenny, along with 11 Great Grandchildren, and 2 Great Great Grandchildren. He also leaves numerous extended family and friends. He is preceded in death by a Step-Son Rick Snyder.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 5, 2022 from 3 PM - 5 PM at Newcomer Cremations Funerals & Receptions, 340 S. Monroe Avenue, Green Bay. A funeral service with full military honors will follow at 5 PM. Interment will be in Nicolet Memorial Gardens.
The family wishes to express their deepest gratitude to the staff of Grancare and Heartland Hospice for the wonderful care given to Ken throughout his final journey.
