Kay Ann (K'Ann) (Heinkel) Cook, 70, passed away unexpectedly at home on Saturday, December 3rd.
She was born in Two Rivers, WI on November 14th, 1952 to Arthur (Art) and Adeline (Addie Jensen) Heinkel. She grew up in Two Rivers, Milwaukee, and Green Bay, graduating from G.B. West High in 1970 as well as the WI College of Cosmetology.
After working as a hairdresser for a few years, she decided to move to Houston Tx, where she met and married Calvin Davis, father of her two daughters, Ashley and Amber. She moved back to Wisconsin in 1987, and lived in Marinette until 2003. While in Marinette, she worked for Wells Fargo Bank in Menominee, MI in the trust department, and loved her job and her coworkers.
While raising her daughters, she enjoyed taking them to extra-curricular activities, such as ceramics class, softball, girl scouts, and Winterguard. Some of her fondest memories were on her daughter Amber's Winterguard competition bus trips, helping the girls with their make-up and causing trouble with the other adults. She also spent many weekends with her parents and family in Townsend, enjoying nature and relaxing with campfires and fishing, before they moved to Pulaski. In 2012, she married Harvey (Butch) Cook in Green Bay, and resided there until her passing. Once she moved to Green Bay, she was employed at K-Mart, Schneider National, Superior Discount Liquor, and Festival Foods until her retirement.
She was always known for her sometimes dirty sense of humor and her ability to make everyone around her feel so loved.
Once fully retired, she and her sisters would go out to lunch regularly, but her greatest pleasure was being Grandma to her only grandchild Dimitri Aeson (Ace) Kouzas. He was her pride and joy, and she told everyone that would listen about just how amazing and smart he is. She spent most of her days at home reading books, surfing Facebook, rooting for the Packers, and playing games on her phone. She also enjoyed music, and would regularly call and sing to her daughters, especially the "5:00 song" from her favorite radio station in Marinette, which played "Paradise by the Dashboard Light" by Meatloaf every Friday at 5:00 PM.
She is survived by her husband, Butch, her daughters Ashley (son Aeson) Kouzas and Amber Davis, her three sisters Sharon(Mike) Seidel, Deb (Steve) Backes and Nancy Whitman, her step-children, Jerry (Mana, daughter Maya) Cook, Nicki (Yakov, son Helio) Grinberg, and Sean Cook, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Art and Addie Heinkel, her brother Robert (Bob) Heinkel, infant son Neil, son-in-law Dimitri Kouzas,
and brother-in-law Wayne Whitman.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
