Kathryn Ann Janelle "Katie", 93, of Green Bay, passed away on December 26, 2023 at Tender Hearts. She was born on January 18, 1930 to Elmer and Linda (Russert) Hedstrom in Green Bay. Katie went to school at Cathedral and later graduated from East High in 1948. On January 22, 1949, she married Alton W. Janelle II. Their marriage was blessed with seven children. Katie worked as a executive secretary for Pranges for over 20 years and later for Bay Title. She was a life long member of St. Francis Xavier Cathedral. Katie enjoyed playing Bridge with her group for over 50 years, gardening, and being a member of the Red Hatters.
Katie is survived by her loving children: Alton (Debbie) Janelle III, Christine (James Nooyen) Sladewski, James Janelle, Michael Janelle, Mary (James) Andrews, and Annette (Christopher) Vanden Busch; 8 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren, one brother, Francis "Bud" (Doris) Hedstrom, and one sister-in-law, Laverne Hedstrom; she is further survived by many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, son, Thomas Janelle, grandson, Wesley Janelle, one son-in-law, Edmund Sladewski, three brothers: William Hedstrom, Arthur Hedstrom, and Robert Hedstrom; one sister, Margaret (Ted) Parmentier; and parents-in-law, Alton I and Isabelle.
Visitation will be held Saturday, January 13, 2024, 9:00 am until 11:00 am at the St. Francis Xavier Cathedral, 139 S. Madison Street, with Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am with Father Brian Belongia officiating. Private Graveside Service will take place at Allouez Catholic Cemetery & Chapel Mausoleum.
