Kathleen "Katie" Friederichs, 97, of Bellevue, passed away on October 13, 2023 at The Courtyard at Bellevue. She was born on February 18, 1926 to Patrick and Maude (Nellessen) Cole in Missouri. As a child the family moved to Chilton, WI; where she grew up. On May 4, 1946, she was united in marriage to Anthony J. Friederichs. Their marriage was blessed with 9 children. Katie worked as a medical transcriptionist for over 30 years at St. Vincent's Hospital. She was a lifelong member of St. John the Evangelist Parish; Katie was instrumental in establishing the East Side Love Life Program. She had a running column in the bulletin "Katie's Love Life" and made layettes until she was well into her 90s. In addition, she volunteered for: St. John's Shelter, St. Vincent De Paul, and other programs. Katie loved to travel and enjoyed her time visiting her family heritage in Ireland.
Kathleen is survived by her loving children: Judith (Gordon Clark) Friederichs, Kathy (Jerome Hollister) Friederichs, Paul (Anne`Marie Giacalone) Friederichs, David (David Manderson)Friederichs, Kurt Friederichs, Timothy (Coleen Keith) Friederichs, Chad Friederichs, 13 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren; further survived by nieces, nephews, and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Anthony, and two sons: Robert and Peter Friederichs.
Visitation will be held Friday, October 20, 2023, 9:30 am at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Parish, 413 St. John Street, Green Bay, with Mass to follow at 11:00 am, officiated by Father Brian Belongia. Private inurnment to take place at Allouez Catholic Cemetery.
