Kathleen (Queenie) Andersen, age 79, of Green Bay, passed away on Sunday, March 20, 2022 surrounded by her loving family and friends.
She was born February 13, 1943; graduated from Green Bay East High School in 1961, and with her West High School friends in spirit.
She was born to Robert and Mildred (Mangless) King of Green Bay, whom passed away at a very young age. She grew up with siblings who lived a life twice their age. It was an experience that made her and her family stronger in life and learned to appreciate everyone.
Queenie married Larry (Spike) Andersen on November 4, 1961. Queenie and Spike had three beautiful children. She enjoyed all their family vacations, some of which were in St. Germain, Minnesota, and Chicago to visit his brother Harvey, Carol and their two boys. One of the best vacations was Maine and Massachusetts. Queenie also loved trips to Vegas with Spike, and many with her best friends.
Queenie worked at Van's Fire & Safety for 32 years and H&R Block for 11 years. She was a member of several charities raising money for educational scholarships for 20 years.
The hardest time for Queenie was dealing with the loss of her best friend Spike, the true love of her life, in 2019. Queenie was a very caring and passionate woman. She loved helping, volunteering, and cooking for everyone. When she couldn't help people anymore, she decided it was time to join her husband Spike, up north, in heaven.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Mildred King, brother Robert (Corky) King, sisters, Sharon Routheau and Sandra Parins, parents-in-law, Harvey and Doris Andersen, brother-in-law Harvey Andersen.
Survivors include daughter, Sheri (Al) Gardapee, son, Gregg (Amy) Andersen, daughter, Lisa (Jim) Kinney. Grandchildren: Ashley (Cal) Davis, Katie (Chris) Dix, Zach (Emily) Gardapee and Rob (Liz) Hock. Great grandchildren Demi, Elta, Kinslee, Lennox, Dawson, and three on the way. Sisters: Judy VanDenHoogen, Barbara Engels, and brother-in-law Jerry Parins. The wonderful Andersen family: brothers-in-law, Bill, Curt (Linda), Craig, sisters-in-law Louise Lowery and Carol.
Visitation will be held at Newcomer-Green Bay Chapel, 340 S. Monroe Avenue, Green Bay, Saturday, April 2, 2022 from 2 to 3 PM. A prayer service will follow at 3 PM. Entombment will be at Fort Howard Memorial Park on Monday, April 4, 2022. In lieu of flowers, Queenie requested a donation to the Humane Society.
