Karen "Jeanie" Peters, 85, of Green Bay, beloved wife of the late Charles "Chuck" Peters, departed this life on Tuesday, March 22, 2016 at St. Mary's Hospital surrounded by her family.
Jeanie was born on January 24, 1931 in Sturgeon Bay, WI, daughter of the late Clifford and Elda (Van Bramer) Lau. She was a resident of Sturgeon Bay for many years until making her home in Green Bay in 1965. She was a loving woman and was a natural caregiver. She opened her home to many people and was known for her cooking and baking. She is most remembered as a loving mother and grandmother.
Her memory lives on in her children: Bill (Laurie) Guth of Waukesha, WI, Debbie (Jeff) Gorham of Port Charlotte, FL, and Katherine O'Shaughnessy of Green Bay, WI. She also leaves her sister, Joanne (Tony) Girouard of LA, along with 9 beloved grandchildren,15 great grandchildren, a cousin, Kay, and many nieces, nephews, and friends. Jeanie is preceded in death by a daughter, Cheryl DeGroot, a brother, Ronald Lau and a great grandson, Ethan DeGroot.
Visitation will be held on Friday, March 25th from 4 - 6:30 PM at the Newcomer Funeral Home 340 S. Monroe Avenue, Green Bay. A funeral service will follow the visitation at 6:30 PM in the funeral home. Interment will be private.
