Karen L. Hmielewski
March 10, 1963 — December 14, 2013
Karen L. Hmielewski, 50, Green Bay, passed away Saturday, December 14, 2013, after her courageous battle with cancer. She was born March 10, 1963, in Wausau, to the late Charles and Geraldine (Burrows) Krejcha.
Karen worked at St. Vincent Hospital as a surgical technologist specializing in orthopedic surgery since April 1991. Karen thoroughly enjoyed her job and was always looking to learn more about her field.
Karen was an accomplished guitarist, pianist, and violinist. She loved bowling, watching the Packers, gardening, cooking, and especially spending time with her family.
Survivors include her husband, Russ; three sons, Dan, Alex, and Andy; granddaughter, Natalie; beloved family pet, Brutus; all of her extended family at St. Vincent Hospital; and many other relatives and friends.
Family and friends may gather Thursday, December 19, 2013, at Newcomer Funeral Home, 340 S. Monroe Ave., Green Bay, from 4:00pm until 7:00pm. There will be a Sharing of Memories at the funeral home on Thursday at 7:00pm.
Karen's family would like to extend a special thank you to the staffs at St. Vincent Hospital and Green Bay Oncology.
