Karen Allen

September 12, 1942 — November 24, 2015

Karen Allen, 73, Bellevue, passed away on November 24, 2015 after a battle with cancer. She was born in Green Bay on September 12, 1942 to Erwin and Eleanore (Wiese) Seifert. She married Kenneth Allen on June 29, 1963 in West Kewaunee WI. Kenneth preceded her in death in February 2015.
Karen graduated from Luxemburg- Casco High School and took her first job working in a secretarial position at the City of Green Bay. She began working as a legal secretary in 1966 by chance when she filled in for friend at the Westering and Martinson Law Office. She worked at a number of law firms over her career; ending her career in August 2015 due to her illness. Her ultimate goal was to work in law for 50 years; falling one year short of her goal. During her career she earned her Legal Assistant certificate. She was an active member of the Wisconsin Association of Legal Professionals for many years including serving a term as President.
She was a member of First United Methodist Church and a Sunday School Teacher for many years.
Karen's greatest joys were her family, friends and career. Her grandchildren were an important part of her life and she was looking forward to holding her first great grandchild in January.
Karen is survived by her children, Kathleen (Rick) Jadin, Kenneth (Karla) Allen Jr, Karl (Vicki) Allen, Keith (Shelley) Allen, Bonita (Mike) Willems, Robert (Juanita) Allen, and Lisa (Doug) Koerner. Karen is further survived her grandchildren, Amber Willems, Joshua Koerner, Sara Johns, Tyler, Bryce, Brayden, Aubrey, Keeley and Presley Allen. Karen is survived by her brothers, Wayne (Judy) Seifert, Morris (Linda) Seifert, Keith (Tarra) Seifert, and Thomas (Alice) Seifert; Sister-in-law's, Virginia (Ray) Jaeger, Judith (Gary) Guth; one brother-in-law, Gerald (Caroline) Allen; and many nieces and nephews.

Karen is preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth and son, Jeffery Allen; and parents.

Friends may call from 2:00pm until 6:00pm on Sunday, November 29, 2015, at Newcomer Funeral Home, 340 S. Monroe Ave., Green Bay. Visitation will continue from 10:00am until 10:45am on Monday, November 30, 2015, at First United Methodist Church of Green Bay, 501 Howe St., Green Bay. A funeral service will be held at 11:00am on Monday at the church with Rev. David Kalas officiating.

Karen's family would like to thank Unity Hospice, our special Unity Angel Brenda M. who carried us through this journey as well as the staff of Angel's Touch Assisted Living for their kind and compassionate care.
