Judith Ann Laurent

April 24, 1952 — August 22, 2024

Green Bay

It is with a heavy heart that we say good-bye to Judith Ann Laurent (Ortlieb). She passed away in her home surrounded by family on Wednesday, August 22, 2024, at the age of 72 after a long battle with Cancer. She was a wonderful Wife, Mother, Daughter, Sister and Grandmother.

She leaves behind her husband Dennis Laurent, her children Leslie (Dave) Collard, Crystal (RJ) Maloney, Lisa (Joe) Bartels. Her four grandchildren Madelyn, Dylan, Miley and Jaxon. Her older brother Jim (Dee) Ortlieb. Many extended family and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her younger brother Kurt Ortlieb, and father-in-law Edward Laurent.

Judith was born in Green Bay on April 24, 1952, to Jerome and Altha Ortlieb. She and her family lived in several different homes around the Green Bay area. She attended Preble High School for 2 years and then transferred to Ashwaubenon High School where she Graduated from in 1970.

Judith got her first Job at St Mary’s Hospital after taking a nurses aide class, she then furthered her studies at NWTC in the LPN program. She then went back to work at St. Mary’s Hospital.

After LPN training she met and later married Dennis Laurent at St. Jude Catholic Church on April 28th 1973. They bought a house together and she started working at Americana Nursing home. During her 14 year career working at the nursing home Dennis and Judie had 3 Daughters. After this time Judie returned to school to get her RN degree. Once she completed her degree she returned to St. Mary’s Hospital for 25 years mostly in the outpatient surgery department.

One of the things Judie loved most was camping and due to Dennis often working nights and weekends she had to be independent and went with her three girls and friends. She loved spending time in the summer at the family cottage enjoying the lake activities. In winter they would ice fish and snowmobile. She had a love for books and enjoyed riding her bike playing cards and pickleball. In the last 17 years she enjoyed being a grandma and spending quality time with them and watching them grow.

For the last 10 years they enjoyed their retirement; she and Dennis ventured out to Arizona with the Travel Trailer; they later bought a park model trailer in a resort where they enjoyed all the amenities offered. As well as returning to Wisconsin for the summers where they enjoyed their annual family camping trips as well as ones with friends.
