Judith "Judy" (Champeau) Schmude, 70, Green Bay, was promoted to glory on Tuesday, March 11, 2014, surrounded by her family. She was born February 26, 1944, in Green Bay, to the late Willard and Arlene Champeau. On April 2, 1968, Judy married Sidney Schmude. Together they welcomed the birth of their four children.
Judy was a strong willed woman with a deep faith in the Lord. As a young woman she was employed at Paul's Carriage Inn, however, most of Judy's life was devoted to her family and serving the Lord as a soldier of the Salvation Army for many years.
Survivors include her 2 daughters, Patty (Tracy) Kiewiz and Michelle Schmude-Reynolds and long-time family friend, Tim Hyde; grandchildren: Grant (Kristy) Lagers, Brooke (special friend, Thomas Wichgers) Lagers, Ryker (special friend, Crystal Moore), Preston, Datonn (special friend, Heather), Brogan, and Morganna Hyde, Austin and Sienna Kiewiz, Branden (Hope), Nick (Valerie), Cassandra, and Heaven Schmude; 12 great-grandchildren; special niece, Brenda (Darrell) Metoxen; numerous siblings; and other relatives and friends.
Judy was preceded in death by her husband, Sidney; 2 sons, James and Jesse; and several siblings.
Family and friends may call Thursday, March 20, 2014, at Salvation Army Corp 626 Union Court, Green Bay, from 5:00pm until 8:00pm with a prayer service at 7:00pm with Major Don Kincaid officiating. Visitation will continue at the Salvation Army Corp on Friday, from 10:00am until 10:45am. A funeral service will be celebrated at the Salvation Army Corp on Friday at 11:00am with Major Herb Fuqua officiating. Burial will be at Nicolet Memorial Gardens.
Judy's family would like to extend a special thank you to Unity Hospice, Bellin ICU, the 4th floor staff at Bellin, and Major Don Kincaid for his support at this difficult time.
In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established.
