Judith Louise Edlebeck, age 71, passed away April 7, 2021 due to complications of Diabetes.
She was born the second oldest of six children to Richard J. Rickert and Dorothy J. Rickert. She grew up on the family farm in Freedom. She attended St. Nicholas Grade School and graduated from Freedom High School Class of 1967. After graduation Judy worked at Morning Glory Dairy Plant in De Pere as a receptionist. This is where she met her future husband, Mike, who was a Bulk Milk Truck Driver. Four years later the two were married at St. Charles Church on September 27, 1974 in Lena. Judy & Mike would have celebrated 48 years of marriage this year.
After their wedding, they operated a dairy farm for 10 years before selling it and moving to Green Bay where Judy started a 25 year career at PDQ Manufacturing. Following PDQ, Judy worked for the Green Bay Packers, a dream job she loved for six years until her retirement. Once retired, Judy traveled coast to coast to visit extended family and relatives. She especially loved growing pumpkins in the garden and giving them away to young children after each harvest. Many kids knew her fondly as the Pumpkin Lady.
Judy's hobbies included fishing, playing Santa to young children at Christmas time, and going to car shows with Mike where they won many trophies and awards for their Cadillac.
Judy is survived by her loving husband, Mike, sisters and brothers-in-law Patricia (Dan) Bacon, Green Bay, Deb (Roy) Vande Hey, Mackville, brothers and sisters-in-law Steve (Genny) Rickert, Green Bay, Pete (Kay) Rickert, Appleton, and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews too numerous to mention. She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard J. Rickert and Dorothy J. Rickert, and one brother Mark Rickert of Freedom, and Mike's parents, George and Violet Edlebeck of Lena.
Per Judy's wishes, no services will be held. Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions is assisting with the cremation. Memorials in Judy's name may be made to the American Cancer Society, her favorite charity.
We wish to deeply thank all of the Unity Hospice angels for all their kindness and loving attention given to us at this time.
