Joyce Clara Bertha (Roubal) Hanmann's soul entered eternal life May 29, 2016 at Manor Care West.
She was born March 10, 1922 to Frank and Anne (Naser) Roubal and baptized March 18, 1922. Joyce confirmed her faith at Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church at Kewaunee, WI on May 5, 1935. Joyce attended Lutheran and Kewaunee Grade Schools, and graduated from Kewaunee High in 1940. She was a graduate of Door-Kewaunee Teachers College and received her B.S. degree from St. Norbert College on August 12, 1966.
Joyce and Garfield Hanmann were married August 4, 1945, and celebrated 62+ years together before Garfield entered eternal life October 2, 2007.
Joyce taught school 34 years in various schools in Kewaunee, and Brown County, retiring from DePere Middle School in 1982.
Joyce and Garfield were members of St. John's Lutheran Church, Townsend, WI until they joined Christ of the Bay, Green Bay, WI. Joyce and Garfield enjoyed travel, winters in Florida and living on Star Lake in Mountain, WI. Family and friend get together's were always enjoyed. In more recent years time was spent at their Green Bay condo before she entered the nursing home.
She is survived by her son Alan (Mary) Hanmann and their children Chad (Melissa) Hanmann and Trisha (John) Wampler, her daughter Yvonne (Lee) Cade and her children Larisa (Hai) Tong, Amy (Vincent) Keenan, and Choi Johnson (friend Maureen Millard); step children Debra (Jay) Thaldorf, Barbara (Terry) Dickman, and Dave (Kimberly) Cade. Great grandchildren surviving include Ava Hanmann, Lauren, Samantha, and Natalie Wampler, Elliot and Violet Tong, Elizabeth, Owen, and Lilya Keenan, step great grandchildren Samantha and Philip Thaldorf (Kristy); and Allyson, Colin, Grace, Anna and Weston Dickman. She is further survived by her sister-in-law Vi Hanmann and many dearly loved nieces and nephews.
Preceding Joyce in death were her husband Garfield Hanmann, Joyce's parents, Garfield's parents Amelia and Herman Hanmann; sisters Ruth (Charles) Francis and Ethel (Orville) Jerovitz as well as many brothers and sisters-in-law, and nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation will be held at 9:30am to 11:00am at the Christ of the Bay Lutheran Church, 450 Laverne Avenue Green Bay, WI. A memorial service will follow at 11:00 AM in the Church . Entombment will follow at 1:30 PM in the mausoleum Sanctuary of Faith next to Garfield's remains. In lieu of flowers and plants a memorial has been set up in Joyce's name.
