Joseph "Joe" Verhasselt, 80, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 14, 2020 after a courageous battle with Parkinson's Disease. He was born on January 11, 1940 to the late Isidore and Josephine Verhasselt.
On July 21, 1962, Joe married the love of his life, Joanne Schroeder. In 1965, Joe and Joanne purchased their farm in De Pere and worked side-by-side for over 50 years before retiring. Joe was extremely passionate about the farm and loved taking care of both the land and the animals. Joe will be remembered for his great work ethic and integrity; a handshake was like a contract to him.
Joe is survived by his five children: Sheri (Carlos) del Plaine, Don (Wendy) Verhasselt, Lisa (Jamie Kohl) Banker, Deb (Matt) Blohm, and Greg (Amie) Verhasselt; grandchildren: Dylan Banker, Taylor Banker, Alyssa del Plaine, Nicole del Plaine, Adam Verhasselt, Jordan Blohm, Mikayla Blohm, Hunter Kohl, Ryan Verhasselt and Eric Verhasselt. He is further survived by siblings and other relatives.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Joanne; his parents and several siblings.
