Joseph Brice

March 16, 1957 — May 29, 2012

Joseph David Brice, 55, Green Bay, passed away Tuesday, May 29, 2012. He was born on March 16, 1957 to the late Garfield T. and Marjorie (Vincent) Brice. On March 16, 1995 Joe married Paula Johns in Green Bay, WI. Joe, better known to his family as "Josey Wales", was one of those "one in a million" guys who had a ready smile and the willingness to help each and everyone he knew. His sense of humor was encompassing and after a conversation with Joe you often left with a deeper understanding of what was really important in life. Growing up in a large family with limited resources, Joe developed an ability to create something out of nothing. From building bikes as a young boy to restoring cars as an adult he always managed to keep busy. His skills led him to a job as an auto body technician and a hobby that lasted a lifetime. Dodge Challengers of various colors could often be seen in his driveway awaiting that "first cruise". Al's Hamburgers on Washington Street was another of Joe's favorites and his daily trips to enjoy his hot cup of coffee and hamburger topped with American fries were a regular part of his schedule. Joe was a HUGE fan of the Vikings, and experienced a fair amount of ribbing from his Packer friends and family. He always survived with a smile and smart remark. Joe's life was not without medical challenges but he always met them with a strong spirit. In 2009, he had a successful kidney/pancreas transplant that extended and improved the quality of his life. Other health complications developed in recent years and cut his life short. God has ended Joe's suffering and has reunited him with his family in heaven.

Joe is survived by his loving wife, Paula Johns-Brice; son, Justin Schultz; special dog, Shiloh; his very special sister-in-law, Sheila Johns; six sisters: Shirley Berthiamume, Dianna (J.R. Statz.) Spoo, Margaret (Tom) Dorn, June Tallman, Jane (Todd) Massey, and Lori (Brian) Moore; and eight brothers: Robert, Tom (Lynn), Gary, Richard, Steve (Villina), Mike (Isabelle), Wayne (Lisa Boyea), Dykes Jeffrey.

Joe was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Roger G. Miller; brother-in-law, Jerry Berthiamume; and his dog, Blackie.
