John H. Richmond, 89, Green Bay, passed away Saturday, April 21, 2012. He was born March 11, 1923 in Fennimore, WI to the late James and Elsie (Stanbough) Richmond. John proudly served his country in the U.S. Army as a paratrooper in the 82nd Airborne.
He is survived by his loving wife, Delia; 4 children: Leonard and Roger Gilbertson, Beverly (William) Brooks, and Diane Richmond; 7 grandchildren: Nicki (Jason) Gadberry, Lucas Richmond, Katherine and Sara Surprise, Jean VanderMissen, Clifford "C.J." Richmond, and William Brooks; and 12 great-grandchildren.
John was preceded in death by his sister, Helen (Steve) Nechkash.
Family and friends may call Thursday, April 26, 2012 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 340 S. Monroe Ave., Green Bay, from 4:00pm until the time of service at 6:00pm. Burial will be in Milwaukee.
John's family would like to say a special thank you to John's loving daughter, Diane Richmond, who tended him dearly.
