John J. Manning

John Joseph Manning, age 82, of Eaton/New Franken, passed away Friday, September 24, 2021. He was born in West De Pere, January 4, 1939 to the late Milfred and Ora (Leininger) Manning. He married his sweetheart from across the street, Shirley Jaeger. She was the love of his life. They shared 55 years of marriage before Shirley passed away in 2016.

John was a machinist by trade. He worked at Northwest Engineering and O&E Machine until his retirement. John and Shirley loved volunteering at a local nursing home and playing BINGO 2 nights a week for 25 years. John even had his own special black out BINGO that everyone loved to play. They retired from the nursing home in October of 2015.

John was a hardworking family man and would do anything to help you. He loved spending time with his family, going on trips and spending time at their cabin. John was an avid outdoorsman that loved fishing and hunting.

John is survived by his 3 daughters: Terri (Ed) La Brec, Clair (Brad) Harrison and Cindy Pigeon; 5 grandchildren: Christopher (Mandie) and John (Kaylyn) La Brec, Preston (Amy), Dallas and Courtney (Nick) Pigeon; 4 great-grandchildren: Jaedyn, Fynlea, Skarlytt and Nova La Brec. He is further survived by in-laws, Peg Manning, Ray (Virginia) Jaeger, Larry (Pat) Jaeger, Helen (Ray) Kocha, Bill (Linda) Jaeger and Gail Jaeger, many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Shirley; an infant son; his parents; in-laws, Albert and Clara Jaeger; brothers, Bud and Don Manning; sisters, Peg Vanden Hoogen and Mary Manning; in-laws, Albert Jaeger Jr., Beverly Jaeger; niece, Tami Jaeger and nephews, Tom Manning and Mike Vanden Hoogen.

Friends and relatives may call at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, (340 S. Monroe Avenue, Green Bay) on Friday, October 15, 2021 from 4 to 6:45 PM with a prayer service at 7 PM. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at ST. THOMAS THE APOSTLE PARISH (5930 Humboldt Rd., Luxemburg, WI), Saturday, October 16, 2021 at 11 AM with Fr. Carlo Villaluz "Fr. Lukee" officiating. Interment will be in Nicolet Memorial Gardens.

The family would like to thank all of the doctors and wonderful nurses at Aurora BayCare Hospital ICU for all of their love and care they provided. You made dad comfortable and listened to his funny jokes.
