John D. Lefebvre

November 11, 1942 — May 14, 2023

John D. Lefebvre, age 80, a lifelong resident of Green Bay, passed away peacefully at his home, Sunday, May 14, 2023, with his loving family at his side. He was born November 11, 1942 in Green Bay, son of the late John R. and Lenore (Denessen) Lefebvre and was a graduate of Green Bay East High School.

John continued his education at Outagamie Co. Teacher's College and finished his 4 year degree at UW-Oshkosh. John retired from the Howard Suamico Grade School after teaching 4th grade for 28 dedicated years. He married Kathy Karsteadt, December 27, 1969. They were married 53 years and were blessed with a daughter.

After retirement he became very active in running and biking. He ran the Bellin Run for 22 years, once coming in 3rd in his age group. He logged thousands of miles on his bike both by himself and with his wife, Kathy. He was an active member of the Downtown YMCA.

John is survived by his wife, Kathy; his daughter, Renee (Chris) Wery; 2 grandchildren, Hannah and Calvin Wery and sisters and brother-in-law: Ruth (Sherwood) Weckler, Mary (Brent) Braun and Peter John (Kathy) Karsteadt. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by 2 sisters, Mary (George) Salmon and Carolyn (Bill) Jeffers.
