John "Jeb" Emerson Beaulieu, age 70 passed away on Thursday November 5, 2020 at Crossroads West. He was born on June 21, 1950 the son of the late John S and Lorene (Smith) Beaulieu in Minneapolis. After high school Jeb furthered his education and received his Masters in Social Work. He was united in marriage to Patsy Melchert on March 7, 1975 in Minneapolis. Their marriage was blessed with two sons; Brian and Adrian. For more than 40 years, Jeb worked for Upward Bound Vision Quest, and as a social worker, he helped motivate many youth into excelling in schooling and furthering their future. He left his position as the director there in 2006. He then helped the youth in Oneida in the Turtle School and the High School.
Jeb was an avid comic collector, enjoyed playing the guitar, he was a big fan of music, especially The Beatles and Leon Russell. He enjoyed studying his heritage and the Ojibwe language, writing calligraphy, reading, cooking, watching, and collecting horror movies. Jeb enjoyed watching the Viking and the Twins games.
Jeb is survived by his wife of 45 years, Patsy; two sons: Brian Beaulieu and Adrian (Vicky) Beaulieu, five brothers and sisters: Jill (Russ) Wilkie, Janet Beaulieu, Renee (Greg) Banks, Jim (Kathy) Beaulieu, and Guy Beaulieu; mother-in-law, Ruth Melchert, seven brothers and sisters-in-law: Harvey Jr. (Sue) Melchert, Kitty Melchert, Tony Melchert, Bonnie (Kevin) Tassoul, Adam (Karen) Melchert, Alvin (Amanda) Melchert, and Edgar Blackbull Sr.; further survived by many nieces, nephews, and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Greg, five brothers and sisters-in-law: Donald (Effie) Melchert, Brenda Melchert, Terry Melchert, Daniel Melchert, Rosa Blackbull.
Friends and family may visit at Newcomer Chapel, 340 S. Monroe Ave on Monday, November 9th, 2020 from 2:00 pm until 4: pm with Funeral Service to follow at 4:00 pm.
