John C. Anstett, 70, of Appleton, passed away on June 15, 2015 at The Bridges of Appleton. He was born on March 29, 1945, in Chicago, Illinois to Edgar and Dolly (Weintraub) Anstett.
John was born and raised in Highland Park, IL. He graduated from Highland Park high school in 1962. He worked for his dad's business Powernail Co. until 1980 when he moved to Kewaunee. There he owned the Waterfront Bar & Grill, retiring in 1990. He lived in Kewaunee until 2006, then moved to Neenah.
John took great pleasure in raising his kids, hunting, and fishing. He was an avid sports fan. He loved the Chicago Bears, Cubs, and NASCAR. John was the life of the party. He found joy in spending time with his family and friends. He enjoyed spending time at Century Elm with Kenny.
John is survived by his son, John E. (Leah) Anstett; daughters, Brooke (Jeff) Detert; and Lisa M. Anstett; brother, Mark (Marti) Anstett; granddaughter, Emily and best friend Kenny Loehrke.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Paul Anstett.
Memorial visitation will be held at the NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, (340 S. Monroe Avenue, Green Bay) on Friday, June 19, 2015 from 5 to 6:45 PM. A funeral service will follow at 7 PM.
