John W. Angst

John W. Angst, 84, of Green Bay, beloved husband of the late Virginia (Bielmeier) Angst, departed this life on Wednesday, October 25, 2017 at St. Vincent Hospital with his daughter at his side.

John was born on February 5, 1933 in Green Bay, son of the late Joseph and Mary Ann (Van Lanen) Angst. He was the co-owner and operator of Green Bay Upholstery for more than 60 years until his retirement in 2008. He enjoyed spending time at his cottage in Door County. In his spare time John was an avid golfer and bowler. He belonged to a neighborhood Poker Club for more than 50 years. John also enjoyed traveling but most importantly spending time with his family.

John will be greatly missed by his children: Carolyn (Mark) Kolb, and Dan (Kathy) Angst. He also leaves his beloved grandchildren: Jennifer, Sophia, Eric, Abby, Veronica, and Ben. John leaves two brothers: Jim and Roger (Barbara) Angst in addition to his in-laws: Tony Balza, Irene (Darwin) Wegenke, Pat (Jim) Lichtenberg, Fred (Judi) Bielmeier, Jim (Polly) Bielmeier, Joe (Joey) Bielmeier, Dan (Jill) Bielmeier, David (Janice) Bielmeier, Lois Bielmeier along with numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family. John is preceded in death by his wife, Virginia, and their son, Jason Angst, along with his siblings: Alice (Mike) Van Schyndle, Grace Balza, Joyce (Loren) Scheer, and Roland (Joyce) Angst. He is also preceded by his sister-in-law: Eunice Angst and brother-in-law, Ray Bielmeier.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 28, 2017 from 9:30 AM - 11:00 AM at St. Matthew's Parish, 130 St. Matthew's Street, Green Bay. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 AM in the Church. Interment will be in Allouez Catholic Cemetery and Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions for Parkinson's Disease Research, may be directed to: The Michael J. Fox Foundation, P.O. Box 5014, Hagerstown, MD 21741-5014.

John's family wishes to express their heartfelt thanks to the staff of Home Instead and Odd Fellows Rehabilitation Center for the wonderful care given to him.
