Joanne C. Riha, age 80, of Green Bay, passed away peacefully, Tuesday, February 27, 2024, with her sister and her niece at her side. She was born in Battle Creek, MI, May 30, 1943, daughter of the late Richard and Sirene (Coshenet) Schumacher.
Joanne graduated from Washington High School, Two Rivers, WI. She married Wayne Riha, April 18, 1964 in Green Bay. They shared 52 loving years of marriage before Wayne passed away in 2016. After Joanne had raised her 8 children, she went back to school to earn her CNA certification. She cared for the residents at Grancare Nursing Home for over 3 decades.
Joanne was an avid reader and enjoyed nature. She absolutely adored her pet Pugs. Her family was her pride and joy. She devoted the majority of time to them and especially loved being a grandma.
Joanne is survived by 4 sons: Gary (Tina), Carl (Dawn), Don (Tammy) and Steve (Laura) Riha; 6 grandchildren: Amber, Ryan, Tyler and Taylor Riha, Sabrina (Riley) Perry and Ali Bolssen; 8 great-grandchildren: Chloe, Cora, Jaxson, Levi, Anakin, Elijah, Briella and Braxton and 2 sisters, Barbara (Jim) Kendall and Donna (Mike) Hall. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Wayne; 3 sons: Mark,Wayne Jr. and Robert Riha; a daughter, Catherine Riha and a brother, Freddy Schumacher.
Visitation will be held at Newcomer-Green Bay Chapel (340 S. Monroe Ave., Green Bay, WI), Monday, March 4, 2024 from 4 to 6 PM. A funeral service will follow at 6 PM. Burial will be in Allouez Catholic Cemetery.
