JoAnn Calderone

JoAnn Calderone, age 76, of Green Bay, passed away on August 14, 2024 surrounded by her family. 

She was born on October 20, 1947 to Frank and Bernice Calderone in Chicago, Illinois. She grew up on Huron Street, in Chicago, and attended Sacred Heart Grade School, and Antioch High School. JoAnn had a deep love for the Chicago Cubs, the BlackHawks, and when they weren't losing, she'd enjoy watching the Bears. One of things she missed about living in Chicago, was a delicious Italian Beef Sandwich, which they could never make right in Green Bay.

JoAnn was blessed with 4 children; Steve, Tony, John and Anna. She was a natural caregiver, raising her children with all the love she could provide. There was even a time when she had to run back home as fast as possible to ensure that her youngest, Anna, could get the blue bunny she had her eye on. Her desire to help went beyond just her children, regularly volunteering at Paul's Pantry. JoAnn had a deep connection to her faith, and when she wasn't able to attend church at St. Mary of the Angel's in person anymore, she continued to regularly pray and join via their TV broadcasts. When not volunteering or at church, she could always be found reading a book.

JoAnn is survived by her loving children: Steve La Grassa Jr., John La Grassa, and AnnaBernyc (Timothy Neal) Calderone, Aubrey, Camia and 9 more grandchildren, and many great grandchildren. She is further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and her loving cat Husband.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her son Tony La Grassa, and two grandchildren; Hannah and Bryce.

The services for JoAnn that were scheduled for Saturday, August 31, 2024 have been canceled. Thank you for your understanding.
