Joan (Gardipee) Meyer, 73, Green Bay, passed away Tuesday, January 24, 2012, in Los Cabos, Mexico. She was born September 14, 1938 in Black River Falls, WI to the late Louis and Inez (Roix) Gardipee. On November 24, 1962 she married Edward Meyer Jr., at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Black River Falls, WI. Joan was an avid reader; she loved classical music, and enjoyed volunteering for various civic activities and groups.
Survivors include her husband of 49 years, Edward Meyer Jr.; 3 children: Kristin Meyer, Michelle (Jeff) Conte, and Nicholas Meyer; 4 grandchildren: Kaitlyn, Emma, Ashley, and Nicholas Conte; 2 brothers, Richard and George Gardipee; 3 sisters: Judy (Malcolm) McLouth, Suzanne (Brian) Moore, and Gay Gardipee; and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Sue (Alan) Hubbard, John (Mary Ann) Meyer, Ursula (Bill) Thomasma, Mary (Don) Coover, Catherine (Tom) Tracy, and Theresa (Dante) Kobek.
Family and friends may call Monday, January 30, 2012, at Old St. Joseph Catholic Church on St. Norbert College Campus, 100 Grant St., De Pere, WI, from 9:00a.m. until 11:00a.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the church on Monday at 11:00a.m. with Rev. James Baraniak O.Praem officiating and Rev. Roland De Peaux O.Praem concelebrating.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Green Bay Symphony Orchestra or to a charity of your choice.
