Jo McKeefry, 65, passed away on Tuesday, April 13, 2021 with her sister by her side, due to complications of a stroke. She was born on March 29, 1956 to the late Leonard and Alice (Korpowski) McKeefry.
Jo worked as a crossing guard for the Green Bay Police Department for 44 years, 43 of them being at the corner of Lime Kiln and August. Jo loved interacting with the many children she saw and loved being able to see the many generations of families over the years. Jo was also employed at Burger King for many years. She was an avid Packers and Brewers fan. In her spare time, Jo enjoyed going to Bingo, taking walks, and watching movies.
Jo is survived by her siblings: Richard "Dick" McKeefry, Karen McKeefry, Mark McKeefry and Lori (Dale) Dombroski; nieces and nephews: Brooke McKeefry, Adam (God son), Dusty, Cory and Bret Wery, Brandon and Tara McKeefry, Bradley McKeefry, Sarah (God daughter) and Jake Ledvina, Natasha and Tim Jolly and numerous great nieces and nephews; Bob and Fay Boerschinger, Jack and Pat Boerschinger and Mary Boerschinger, who Jo considered her second family. Jo is further survived by many cousins and extended family members.
She was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles, god parents, Wally and Christine Boerschinger, and a sister.
Visitation will be held on Friday, April 16, 2021 at Newcomer Green Bay Chapel (340 S. Monroe Ave. Green Bay, WI) from 4 pm to 7 pm. A short prayer service will take place at 7 pm.
Jo's family would like to thank Heartland Hospice for the care and compassion they provided during this time.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund will be established at Eisenhower Elementary School in Jo's name.
