Jo Anne M. Luell, age 87, of Suamico (formerly of Rochester, MN), passed away, Sunday, May 8, 2016 at her home, surrounded by her loving family. She was born January 5, 1929 in Sturgeon Bay, WI, daughter of the late Joseph and Helen (Fortemps) Paul and was a graduate of St. Mary's Catholic School, Fond du Lac, WI.
Jo Anne married George Luell in 1947 at Corpus Christi Parish, Sturgeon Bay, WI and together they shared 55 loving years of marriage before George passed away in 2003. Jo and George shared a very special bond and they are united once again.
Jo loved life. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, playing cards and was an amazing hostess who loved entertaining friends and family. Jo had a passion for animals, especially dogs. She loved spending time walking her dog, Dolly. Her family was most dear to her heart and she will be dearly missed by all whos lives she touched with her endless energy and zest for life.
Jo Anne is survived by her son, Dennis (Sandra, her honorary daughter) Luell; granddaughter, Bonney (special grandson, Marc) Nourani of San Antonio, TX; great-granddaughters, Hannah and Sophia Nourani and her special canine companion, Dolly.
In accordance with Jo's wishes, private services will be held by her family.
In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, donations to the Bay Area Humane Society, in honor of Jo's love of animals, are appreciated.
Jo's family would like to extend a special thank you to Donna, Mary and Jessica of Aurora at Home Hospice for their extraordinary care of Jo during her final days.
