Jerome J Leonard

Jerome (Jerry) Joseph Leonard, age 81, of Green Bay passed away on September 14 , 2024. He was born on March 30, 1943, in Chicago Illinois to Edward J. Leonard and Fern E. Leonard (Leslie). 

His family moved to Wisconsin when Jerry was a small child. Jerry graduated from Marinette High School in 1962. Where he played football, basketball and was on the track team. He attended Augustana College and played football but was injured. As he became a fan instead of a player of sports. He loved the Green Bay Packers. But talking about politics was his favorite sport. Jerry learned a variety of skills through his employment. He was a police officer in Green Bay, a private investigator, owned a bar, also a remodeling business. 

In June 1972, he married the love of his life Barbara J. Geitner. Together they had two children. Though-out the years they enjoyed traveling, golfing, fishing, and when she picked dancing. Their traveling had them retiring to Missouri for many years until their grandchildren brought them home to Wisconsin. 

Jerry is survived by his wife; Barbara Leonard. His children; Sean Leonard and Nicole (Dereck) Plzak. His grandchildren; Lorelei Leonard, Hazel Leonard, Bane Plzak, and Cylin Plzak. 

Jerry was preceded by his parents and his brother Cyril Leonard. 

Per Jerry’s wish: his family will be holding a Celebration of Life on September 30th from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Terry's Wall Street Pub (3361 Main St, Green Bay, WI 54311).
