Jeffrey J. La Plant

Jeff "Herm" La Plant passed away peacefully with his family by his side on March 3, 2021 from complications following surgery. Jeff was born on October 7, 1970, the son of Daniel and Julie (De Moulin) La Plant.
Jeff graduated from East High in 1989. He then attended UW-Stevens Point. On June 13, 1997 he married Leslie Leiterman.
Working construction was his passion and he loved doing anything outdoors - hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, and taking the family for rides on the pontoon were some of his favorites. Jeff also loved cooking, baking Christmas cookies, and keeping his yard the best looking in the neighborhood. Spending time with his dad was very special to him. Jeff was the best "Girl Dad" and being "Papa Chef" to his grandsons was his biggest accomplishment.
Jeff is survived by his wife Leslie, two daughters: Abby (Donnell) and Aubrey; two grandsons: Kyrie and Keyon; his parents: Dan and Julie La Plant; sister: Stacie (Steve) Bonney; mother-& father-in-law: Sandy and Dennis Vincent; two brothers-in-law: Nicholas Jr. and Dennis Jr. He is further survived by his much loved aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He is preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents: Milton and Izzy De Moulin and Joseph and Rosemary La Plant, uncle Dennis De Moulin and late father-in-law Nicholas Leiterman, Sr.
A celebration of Jeff's life will be held at a later date.
A memorial fund for Jeff's grandsons Kyrie and Keyon will be set up by the family. Cards can be sent to Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to all the nurses on the 4th floor ICU at St. Mary's Hospital and to Dr. Sylvester, Hoppe, and Nusrat.
