Jeane J. Stoll

March 17, 1926 — March 21, 2018

Jeane Martin Stoll, 92, passed away on Wednesday, March 21st, 2018. The daughter of Dr. H.A. & Merle (Schoenfeld) Martin, she was born March 17, 1926, in Plymouth, Wisconsin.

Upon graduation from Plymouth High School in 1944, she was employed at the Citizen's State Bank. In January 1947, she moved to Sheboygan, Wisconsin, where she met Linus Stoll from LaCrosse, Wisconsin. Both were new employees of Wisconsin Public Service Corporation (WPSC). They married October 30, 1948.

Linus was recalled to active Navy duty in December 1950 and moved the family to Norfolk, Virginia, in May 1951. They returned to Sheboygan in January 1953, where he resumed his position with WPSC. Subsequent moves took them to Oshkosh, Two Rivers, and finally to Green Bay in 1971.

Upon Linus' retirement in 1991, they spent a few winter months each year (until 2009) on Marco Island, Florida, where Jeane became an avid shell collector and participated in many shell shows. They liked to travel and attended several elderhostels in the U.S. and enjoyed tours to Australia, New Zealand, Germany, Switzerland, Great Britain, Sweden, Norway, Russia and Canada.

Happiest times were when they took the entire family on vacations to Hawaii, Bermuda, Disney World and resorts in northern Wisconsin. By 2005, the grandchildren were mostly grown, getting married and moving away so it became difficult to gather them all at the same time.

In May 2014 they moved to Touchmark Retirement Community in Appleton, Wisconsin, to be closer to one of their children. Linus passed away March 21, 2015. Jeane suffered a severe stroke January 12, 2018. After trying rehabilitation therapy, she decided to enter into hospice care at Brewster Village in Appleton, Wisconsin, until the end of her life. Her children were happy to celebrate with their mother on her 92nd birthday on March 17, 2018.

Jeane is survived by her 4 children: Michael Stoll (Toni), of Madison, Wisconsin, and 3 children, Benjamin Stoll (Cristina) of Washington, D.C., Samantha Stoll of Boston, and Zachary Stoll of New York City; Barbara Hambleton (Cliff), of Fenton, Michigan, and 3 children, Sara Didoszak (Jerry) of Farmington Hills, Michigan, Matthew Hambleton of Cleveland, Ohio, and Amanda Hambleton of Tallahassee, Florida; Steven Stoll (Linda), of Menasha, Wisconsin, and 4 children, Brian Stoll (Stephanie) of Italy, Jennifer Blankenfeld (Eric) of Neenah, Wisconsin, Rebecca Brown (Bill) of Menasha, Wisconsin, and Jason Stoll (Kelly) of Menasha, Wisconsin; and Mary Endres (Michael) of Maple Grove, Minnesota, and 2 children, Samuel and Jacob; as well as 13 great grandchildren.

Jeane was an active member of First United Methodist Church, the United Methodist Women and the Bell Choir, in Green Bay, Wisconsin. She continued to enjoy Sunday services online after moving to Appleton. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.

Memorial services will be held at First United Methodist Church, 501 Howe Street, Green Bay, Wisconsin, on Saturday, April 14th, at 10:30am.

In lieu of flowers, Memorials may be given to Salvation Army, Habitat for Humanity (local or international), Rawhide Boys Ranch, or First United Methodist Church (or Women) of Green Bay, Wisconsin.
