Jean Mary Welles (Anderson) known as Jeannie to her friends, 71, of Green Bay, WI, passed away on July 11, 2017 while recovering from illness in Memphis, TN.

Jeannie was born in Green Bay, WI to Clarence and Elizabeth "Betty" Anderson (LeCaptaine) on February 11, 1946. She went to school at Preble High School in Green Bay, WI. She married Paul Welles in 1966. Working at Northern Shoe, Jelco Bus Lines Inc. (aka Laidlaw and now First Student) she dedicated over 20 years to the transport of special needs children For Jelco Bus Lines Inc. (Now First Student). Jeannie took pride in competing in school bus rodeos for her division, once taking a divisional prize as a solo driver against other divisions with multiple competitors. The plaque she was awarded still hung on the wall when she left Jelco (then Laidlaw).
Later in life, she took up a position as a Semi-truck driver with Schneider National before ending her work life at Broadway Chevrolet, Inc. Outside of her occupation, she enjoyed spending her time helping others volunteering for T.R.U.S.T. Inc., a handicapped riding therapy program.
Jeannie is preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Betty Anderson.
Jeannie is survived by her husband Paul Welles, sister and brother-in-law Carol and Peter DeKeyser, her daughters and their husbands, Carrie (Eric) Thornton and Wendy (Paul) Stammers, nieces and nephews Scott DeKeyser, Lisa DeKeyser and Brian DeKeyser, her grandchildren Damian Welles, Jisselle and Justice Wunrow, Laura Larson and Lilly and Erin Rose Thornton and extended family.

The family of Jeannie wishes to extend our sincere thanks to her entire medical team at Bellin Health as well as the team at Rennes Healthcare that helped her return to us for her last few months. Also, the Wal-mart Pharmacy Team and the Green Bay Fire Department. We are eternally grateful.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 5, 2017 from 12:00 PM - 1:30 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, 340 S. Monroe Avenue, Green Bay. A memorial service will follow at 1:30 PM in the funeral home.
