Jean Conger, 75, of Green Bay, WI passed away on Thursday, March 18, 2021 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born on April 23, 1945 in Madison, WI to the late Walter and Alice (Conlin) Hochstetter.
Jean graduated from UW-Madison with a degree in political science. After graduation, Jean traveled to New York and used her beautiful smile and quick thinking to wow the world when she made an appearance on the 1960s gameshow Password.
On September 6, 1969 Jean married the love of her life Mike Conger, at Immaculate Heart in Madison, WI. During their 51 years of marriage, they traveled throughout the United States and Canada connecting with family and friends. Each trip was filled with love and a lot of laughter. For a special Christmas gift, Mike surprised Jean with a trip to Paris which made for wonderful adventures and memories.
The love and kindness Jean showed to all who knew her was her true trademark. Her welcoming smile and big warm hug was always something you could count on. She loved spending time with her family and friends, and truly lived for those moments when her family was together.
She also enjoyed rollerblading, biking and reading. Retirement allowed Jean time to volunteer at Green Bay schools as Mrs. Santa Claus (with Mike as Santa), and the Green Bay Botanical Gardens where she was able to share her love of gardening with others. Spending time on Hilton Head Island brought Jean a lot of joy as she flew kites, collected sand dollars for her grand-daughters and had an occasional run-in with a Packer fan walking the beach.
Jean is survived by her husband of 51 years Mike Conger; three sons: Chris (Julie) Conger, Scott (Johnna Wells) Conger and Matt (Chantale Grenon) Conger; five granddaughters: Hailey, Hannah, Wrenne, Sabine and Olive; along with many other members of her family.
Due to the current circumstances surrounding COVID-19, a celebration of Jean's life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the Green Bay Botanical Gardens or to Unity Hospice. Jean's family wants to thank Unity for all their amazing care.
