With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved Janet Giese, who departed from this world on Friday, May 3rd, 2024 at age 60, surrounded by her loving family. She leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and boundless joy that touched the lives of all who knew her.
Janet entered this world on January 2, 1964, in Appleton, WI, daughter of the late Michael and Ferol Niesen. She graduated from Appleton West High School, Class of 1982. After a loving courtship of 15 years, she exchanged vows with Timothy Giese on November 13, 2020.
Janet was a radiant presence, whose kindness and generosity touched all who knew her. She delighted in entertaining family and friends with her culinary skills. She found immense joy in the simple pleasures of life, from the excitement of casinos to the planting and enjoying her flowers.
Above all else, Janet treasured her role as a grandmother. Her two grandchildren were her pride and joy, and she cherished every moment spent doting on them, showering them with love, and creating cherished memories that will forever be etched in their hearts.
Janet is lovingly remembered by her husband, Timothy; her children, Ashley (Tony) and Andrew; grandchildren, Addison and Amelia; stepchildren: Hannah (Jack), Trevor (Maddie), Connor, and Tim. She is also survived by her five siblings: Chuck, Saadia, Judi (David), Jim, and Lori (Darrell), and sister-in-law, Debbie.
Additionally, Janet leaves behind her faithful canine companion, Jasper, along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many cherished friends.
Though she may have departed from this world, Jan’s spirit will live on in the countless lives she touched and the memories she created. She will be deeply missed but never forgotten, her legacy of love and laughter continuing to inspire all who were blessed to know her.
Janet was preceded in death by her parents, as well as her brothers, Rick and Tom, and brother-in-law, Muhammad.
Visitation will take place at the Newcomer-Green Bay Chapel (3340 S. Monroe Ave., Green Bay, WI) on Friday, May 10, 2024, from 4 to 5 PM, followed by a memorial service at 5 PM.
