James Anthony" Jay" Thompson, 64, of Green Bay, passed away with his family by his side, on November 12, 2024 at Green Bay Health Services. He was born on November 7, 1960 to James and Yvonne (Cotnoir) Thompson in Appleton. Jay graduated from Gillett High School in 1980. One of Jay's dreams was to learn how to drive a car, and in 1989 he succeeded. He was an avid San Francisco 49ers fan. He always loved gifts of 49ers items, even though he kept them in the packages as they were dear to his heart. Jay cherished the time he spent with his nieces and nephews, especially with his godson, Ryan. He will be always be known for having a helping hand and a smile on his face.
James is survived by his siblings: Pamela (Brian) Swan, Dean (Kathy) Thompson, Eric (Patty) Thompson, and Julie (Mike) Lamarre; nieces and nephews: DJ (Bobbi) Leisner, Matt (Vicki) Swan, and Jordan (Brittany) Swan; Austin Thompson and Kiana (Nathan) Gennrich, Justin (Cierra) Thompson, Kayleigh (Wayne) Stilwell, Brett (Lauren) Thompson, Ryan (Hannah) Lamarre and Mackenzi (Dalton) Conard; he is further survived by great-nieces and nephews, cousins, and a sister-by-heart, Eva Buss. He was preceded in death by his parents, special cousins, Robby and Mike Thompson, and numerous aunts, uncles, and grandparents.
Memorial service will take place in Spring 2025.
The family would like to extend a thank you to the staff at Green Bay Health Service and Unity Hospice, for all their care, comfort, and support that was given to Jay and the family.
Jay will be dearly missed. He was a fighter, and kept fighting to the very end; being one of the oldest CP patients living.
