James A. McGrath, 65, originally of the Chilton, WI area, passed away suddenly Wednesday, August 7, 2019, at his home in Green Bay. Jim had been improving after battling an illness for the past few months.
Jim was born May 29, 1954, at Chanute Air Force Base, IL, the Son of career Air Force Sergeant James F. McGrath and Chilton native Berdella E (Hephner) McGrath. Jim was a member of the military who had attended Basic Training in 1972 at Fort Leonard Wood, MO. He was a career truck driver, loved to hunt, fish, he was an avid pool player, and loved to visit family and friends, rode motorcycle in his early years. He loved music and could often be found tapping a tune or two to some 1970's power Rock like REO or Journey. Jim saw much of this great country from behind the windshield of an 18 wheeler. He was a rich man for that. We are richer for having had him with us on loan from God. Now, it's Heaven bound and down, 18 wheels are rolling… He's gonna do what they say can't be done… Love you our Dearest Jim!
Jim is survived by his life partner, Diane Cole of Toledo, OH; brother, Joseph (Lois) McGrath Waupaca; sister Julie (Gary Knaubenbauer) Ruh of New Holstein; 2 nephews Joseph II of NM, and Stephen (Heather) McGrath of MA; 3 nieces Berdella Endress of IL, Meranda Ruh of Brillion and Lisa (Dan) Berger of MN; 2 great nieces Raelynn Berger and Tessa McGrath.
