James Laverdiere

April 24, 1940 — November 4, 2021

Jim Laverdiere age 81 died on November 4, 2021 at home surrounded by his loving family. Jim was born in Lake Linden, MI on April 24, 1940. The second of seven children born to Roland and Katherine (Locatelli) Laverdiere. Jim's family moved to Green Bay in 1954 where he met his wife Lois Bandt. Jim and Lois were married on July 25, 1959 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Green Bay, WI and have recently celebrated 62 years of marriage. Jim and Lois were blessed with four children, 12 Grandchildren, 12 Great Grandchildren and one Great, Great Grandson.

Jim worked for Fort Howard Paper for 30 years retiring in 1989. After retiring, Jim started restoring a '48 De Soto. His dream of having and old car and showing it finally materialized and Jim won hundreds of trophies for his efforts. Jim belonged to several car clubs, The Nifty-Fifties and the National DeSoto Club. Many friends were made along the way with many happy memories. Jim's car show buddies became his second family.

Jim is survived by his wife Lois, his children; Sherry (Dave) Ebben, Julie Sobiek, Mark (Marsha) Laverdiere, and Cathy (Mike) Mancheski; twelve grandchildren: Patrick Clark, Nicole (Jack) Tennessen, Tracy (Scott) Christensen, Michelle Ebben, Melanie, Katie, Ryan, Amber, and Andrew Sobiek, AJ (Candace) Laverdiere, Jacob Mancheski, Madison (Dylan) Hanson; twelve great grandchildren; one great, great, grandson; his sisters Marie Rowe, Judy (Don) Cortright; brother Paul Laverdiere; sisters in law: Colleen Bamber, Susan (Don) Schwader, and Christine (Dave) Ausloos.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents; his in-laws, Roland and Marie (Yuenger) Bandt; his sisters, Carol and Jeannie; brother, David and son-in-law, Rick Sobiek.

Visitation will be at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 710 N. Baird Street, Green Bay on Friday, November 12, 2021, from 10:00 a.m. with a Funeral Mass to follow at 12 noon.
