James E. Krueger, 92, passed away on Sunday, April 3, 2022.
Jim was born October 14, 1929 in Green Bay to Elmer and Marjorie Krueger. He graduated West High School in 1947. He received a Bachelors Degree in Economics from St. Norbert College in 1951. He served in the Navy during the Korean War.
Jim married Jerrie Meyer in 1953. They raised six children in Green Bay. Together they enjoyed tennis, skiing, travel, friends and so much family time. Jim was an avid golfer, a skilled woodworker and a determined cribbage player. He enjoyed history and reading. He was a charter member of Four Seasons Tennis Club, Western Racquet Club and Brown County Golf Course. Jim very much enjoyed lake time with family at Lake Newton and Lower Long Lake. He kept a pristine lawn and yard. His children and grandchildren's sports gave him such pleasure and he spent countless hours watching hockey, tennis, football and baseball. He volunteered in various community groups like Habitat for Humanity, School Board for St. Agnes School, St. Agnes Catholic Church and later St. Elizabeth Seton. Jim owned Valley Heating and Air Conditioning and was involved in many professional organizations pertaining to that business. He retired from Badger Sheet Metal in 1985. After retirement Jim built two homes, one that he and Jerrie lived in for 15 years. He has made hundreds of pieces of furniture for his children and grandchildren.
Jim was most proud of his six children, 14 grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Survivors include his children: Jim (Colette) Krueger, Judy (Jerry) Schmitz, Jenifer Krueger, John Krueger, Paul (Nancy) Krueger and Mary (Dan) Graaskamp.
Funeral Services are planned for Monday, August 1 at 11:00 am at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church. There will be a visitation from 9:00-11:00 am at the church.
In lieu of flowers the family encourages you to make a donation in James' name to the Alzheimer's Association of WI or to Amedisys Hospice.
