James "Jim" P. Cygan Sr., age 86, of Green Bay, passed away peacefully on January 17, 2025 surrounded by his family. He was born November 27, 1938 to Harry and Marguerite Cygan in Green Bay, Wisconsin.
Jim was a graduate of the class of 1957 at Premontre High School. He honorably served in the Air Force from 1957 to 1961. He went on to work at Ft. Howard Paper Mill for 36 years before retiring.
Jim married his life-long love, Grace "Mitzi" MacKenzie, on October 19, 1963 at SS. Peter & Paul Parish, Green Bay. The couple had recently celebrated their 61st wedding anniversary.
Jim's Catholic faith and family were exceptionally important to him. He shared the love of God with his family that he cared so deeply about. He had a passion for ham radio, the Green Bay Packers, golf and making others smile.
He especially enjoyed surprising those who didn't know he could speak some polish. If you were lucky enough, you'd hear him say a sentence or two. Jim was a generous +and kind soul who will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
He leaves behind his son, James P. Cygan Jr. and his wife Lori, his sister, Dianne Tarrence, six grand-puppies along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Jim was preceded in death by his wife, Mitzi, his parents, and his brother, Mike Cygan.
Memorial services will be announced at a later date.
Jim's family would like to extend their gratitude to Aurora Hospital and Hospice and the wonderful doctors and nurses on the fourth floor.
