James E. Goodchild, 79, Wabeno, passed away at his daughter's home in Pulaski, on Sunday, September 28, 2014, surrounded by his family.
He was born on June 4, 1935, in Blackwell, WI, to Edward & Irene (Dudley) Goodchild.
James was stationed in Italy while serving in the U.S. Army.
He married the love of his life Lucille Baye on January 11, 1958, at Ss. Peter & Paul Parish in Green Bay.
James worked for Green Bay Public Schools until his retirement in 1990. Upon retirement, he returned to his roots in Northern Wisconsin, settling in Wabeno.
He was an avid lifelong fisherman and hunter. James' recent passion was playing golf, and he was a member of Nicolet Golf Club for many years. He had a love for the Brewers, Packers, Badgers and all sports. Jim was proud that he had attended the Legendary Ice Bowl where he cheered the Green Bay Packers to victory.
Jim was a member of St. Ambrose Parish and the Knights of Columbus of Wabeno.
He is survived by his wife, Lucille; daughters, Connie (Bob) Tease, Pulaski, and Jamie Greeley (fiancé, Jonathan Haymans) Savannah, GA; grandchildren, Joshua and Jacob Tease, Pulaski, Peter Beth III, Green Bay, and Tanner Greeley, Savannah; siblings, Shirley (Ed) Heinsen, Judy McCarroll, and Curt Goodchild.
He is preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Becky Goodchild and Betty Westenberger.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to close family friend and caregiver Lori (Radosevich) Krohn, and Unity Hospice, especially Jenny C. whom Jim eagerly awaited for her weekly visits.
Visitation will be held from 4:00pm until 7:00pm on Wednesday, October 1, 2014, at Newcomer Funeral Home, 340 S. Monroe Ave., Green Bay *(Monroe Ave., is closed. Access to funeral home is available off Madison St., One Block West of Monroe Ave., or Crooks St.)* A prayer service and military honors will conclude the evening at 7:00pm
Visitation will be held from 10:00am on Thursday, October 2, 2014, at St. Ambrose Catholic Parish, 1793 Elm Ave, Wabeno, WI, until the time of Mass at 11:00am at the church.
