James Dimick, age 84, passed away on Monday, February 5, 2018.
Jim was born in Appleton, WI, on January 29, 1934, the son of Arthur & Irene (Zeigler) Dimick.
He graduated from Appleton West High School, and joined the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict. He attended several U.S. Navy electrical schools. He also attended Submarine School at New London, Connecticut, and served aboard the U.S.S. Catfish, SS-339, and the U.S.S. Mingo, SS-261.
Jim married Jackie (Jacquelyn) Gerken on November 19, 1955, in Red Wing, Minnesota, who joined him at San Diego, California where his boat was stationed.
Following his military commitment, Jim attended Milwaukee School of Engineering. Following school he worked for Wisconsin Public Service for 37 years, as a lineman, electric serviceman and the building services crew leader.
Jim enjoyed his time with the Submarine Veterans Groups, his boat and fishing on Lake Michigan, and also hunting deer, turkey and bear, as well as hunting in Wyoming, Colorado and Montana.
Survivors include his wife, Jackie; daughter, Jeanne (Dennis) Dimick-Rego of Sturgeon Bay; sons, Jeffrey (Cheri) Dimick of Milladore, WI and John Dimick of Kewaunee, WI; granddaughters, Melanie and Emma; and a niece and nephew.
Jim is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Robert Dimick and John Dimick.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 am until time of Memorial Service at 11:00 am on Friday, February 9, 2018, at Grace Lutheran Church, 321 S. Madison Ave., Green Bay, with Pastor Larry Lange officiating.
The family would like to thank the friends, family and neighbors for their support during this difficult time.
