James Ronald De Keyser was born on August 3, 1947 in Green Bay to the late Vada June De Keyser (Mills) and Leonard Earnest De Keyser.
Jim attended a one room school house in Bay Settlement until 7th grade, when his parents moved to Green Bay. He was an active member of the Boy Scouts, and continued on to earn his spot in the Order of the Arrow. He played football for Green Bay East High School and was a starter for the football team that won the conference championship in 1965. He was an excellent defensive lineman. He continued on the family tradition of winning a championship game, joining his dad, his brother, and now his nephew.
He married Janet Mursau and they had three children together, Jerry, Robert and Holly. He became a skilled welder at Animax, where he spent his career. Jim has often been referred to as the “Legend” at Animax, later Sanimax.
Jim married Sandra in 1975. She had 3 children, Brenda, Shelly and Mike. In 1980 he adopted her children. He Loves his family very much. He enjoyed spending time with his Brother Bob and sister Julie.
Jim loved the outdoors. He had a Cabin near Wabeno, WI where he enjoyed fishing, hunting, and relaxing by the campfires with his family and friends. Jim was a skilled handyman. He could fix anything. Jim loved to help people. If you need help with anything, you can count on him to be there for you. Jim also was a great bowler, softball player, and Packers and NASCAR fan.
James was survived by his children: Jerry (Paula) De Keyser from North Carolina, Robert (Charlene) De Keyser from Green Bay, WI, Holly (Jeff) Peters from Suamico, WI, Brenda (John) Curren from Lena, WI, Shelly (Bill) McGregor from Green Bay, WI, Michael De Keyser from Green Bay, WI; his siblings: Bob (Darcy) De Keyser from Green Bay, WI and Julie (Chas) Walsh from South Carolina; James is further survived by many loving grandchildren, great-grandchildren, relatives, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Leonard; his mother, Vada De Keyser; and his wife, Sandra Lee De Keyser.
He was a wonderful husband, dad, brother, son, grandpa and great-grandpa.
He has touched so many lives and hearts. He will be so very missed by all that knew him.
