James R. Barrett, 78, of Green Bay, beloved husband of Jackie (Van Frachen) Barrett, passed away peacefully on March 16, 2017 at Grancare Nursing Home, surrounded by his family.
Jim was born on May 2, 1938 in Two Rivers, WI, the youngest of seven children of the late James and Mae (McDonald) Barrett. He was a graduate of Washington High School in Two Rivers. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy (1956 - 1959). He retired in 2000 after 36 years as an Optical Technician at Wisconsin Optical Services. In his spare time he enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping.
In addition to his wife of 58 years Jackie he is survived by his sons: Chris (Amanda) Barrett and Craig (Karen) Barrett. He also leaves 6 grandchildren: Malachi, Matthew, Maccabee, Jedidiah, Cassandra, and Aubree.
Visitation will be held on Monday, March 20th from 3:00 PM - 6:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, 340 S. Monroe Avenue, Green Bay. The U.S. Navy will render full Military Honors at 6 PM in the funeral home. Entombment will be private at the Good Shepherd Mausoleum at Nicolet Memorial Gardens.
