Jacquelyn (Jackie) Jean Dimick passed away at Unity Hospice on Wed., March 10th. Jackie was born in Red Wing, MN on Dec. 26, 1935 to Arthur F Gerken of Lake City, MN and Eleanora (Clausen) Gerken, Red Wing, MN. Jackie graduated from Central High School, Red Wing, MN in 1953, and then graduated from Robinson School for Beauty Culture, Minneapolis, MN in 1954. Jackie married James (Jim) A Dimick on Nov. 19, 1955 in Red Wing, MN.
Jackie had many occupations throughout her life. Homemaker, beautician, business owner of Acme Nameplate Co., waitressed at the Royal Scott Super Club, worked in the HC Prange Company Merchandise Office, and retired from Prange Way as an office assistant.
Jackie is a past president and secretary of Wequiock PTA; past membership chairperson for Evergreen Quilters, and past member of Grace Lutheran Church choir. Jackie was an accomplish seamstress winning a blue ribbon in 1971 in the Kellogg-Citizens National Bank Dress A Doll contest for the fancy dress category. Jackie through the years sewed many of our clothes, made quilts, embroidered, cross-stitched, did water-color painting, crocheted and knitted. Jackie has many ribbons to her credit, some of which include baking contests at Heritage Hill. Jackie also volunteered at Heritage Hill and for Brown County Volunteer Center during retirement.
Jackie and Jim through the years hosted many parties in their basement following deer hunting season, for Green Bay Packer Championship and Superbowl games, and sometimes just for fun with family friends including a folk band that consisted of friends that play for their parties. Jackie and Jim would also host salmon boils for family and friends.
Jackie hunted in CO and WY with Jim for mule deer and antelope in the 60's, 70's and 80's and leaves behind many friends and fond memories from out west, and many close friends in the Green Bay and Red Wing areas. Jackie was a super fan of Jeopardy and Alex Trebek.
Jackie was preceded in death by her parents, husband James, and two brothers Bud and Gary. Surviving are Jackie's children Jeanne Dimick-Rego (and Dennis), Sturgeon Bay, WI; Jeffrey (and Cheri) Dimick, Milladore, WI; and John Dimick, Kewaunee, WI. Granddaughters Melanie and Emma; step grand children Michelle Murton, Jena Schmeling and Matthew Rego and their families; as well as nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 27, 2021 at Newcomer Green Bay Chapel (340 S. Monroe Ave. Green Bay, WI) from 10 am to 11 am. A memorial service will follow at 11 am.
