Jacqueline Lee (Hay-Albers) Nagan, 80, Lakewood, passed away peacefully Saturday, August 31, 2013, after a long courageous battle with cancer. She was born in Milwaukee to the late Aubrey and Doris (Scott) Hay on December 17, 1932. Jackie graduated as salutatorian with the class of 1950, from East De Pere High School. On August 28, 1950 she married Clifford G. Albers and had 4 children together.
Jackie worked for Northern Propane as assistant to the district manager for 5 years and then as a police dispatcher for the De Pere police dept. for 6 years. After Cliff's death in 1977, she remarried David Nagan in 1985; they lived in Hobart until 1992 and then retired to Lakewood where Jackie opened an art studio, "Sweet Meadow Pond". Jackie was an accomplished artist, enjoyed painting, writing, poetry, gardening, reading short stories, and the piano. Her love of nature and the north woods was reflected in her painting and crafts.
Survivors include her husband, David Nagan; 4 children, Kim Zimmerman, Kris, David, and Todd (Debra) Albers; 5 grandchildren; 6 step-children, Dale (Renate), Tom (Rita), and Dave Jr. (Mary Ann) Nagan, Brenda (Russ) Leeman, Penny Hicks, and Shelly (Bill) Greely; 9 step-grandchildren; and 4 step-great-grandchildren.
Jackie was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Clifford G. Albers; and step-son, Steven Nagan.
Family and friends may call Tuesday, September 3, 2013, at Newcomer Funeral Home, 340 S. Monroe Ave., Green Bay, from 1:00pm until the time of service at 3:00pm with Fr. Patrick Gawrylewski, O.F.M. officiating.
In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established.
Jackie and her family wish to give thanks to all at Martha Siekman Cancer Center, especially Dr. Guenther, Jen, and Nancy, and the staff at Langlade Hospital in Antigo, especially, Sr. Delores.
