Ian Martin

May 10, 1989 — September 15, 2020

Ian Martin died on September 15, 2020 of a hard fought, but losing, battle with drug addiction. He was born on May 10, 1989 in Pennsylvania and came home to his adoptive parents Judy Martin and Jean Gunner three weeks later. His family moved to Green Bay when he was young. He proudly supported the Steelers, even growing up in the shadow of Lambeau Field. Ian was an avid soccer player since he was 4 years old and graduated from Freedom High School, one of the school's soccer stars.

Ian had a big smile and an even larger heart. He was a hard worker, a natural salesman, and a joy to be around. He dearly loved children, and they loved him back.

Ian leaves behind his life partner Lindsey Thomas, his two beloved sons, Kaleb and Jack, his 'little' brother Gaven (Kiley Van Roy) Martin, his mothers Judy Martin, Kathie Solie, and Jean Gunner, and Lindsey's family : Tammy (Cliff Maki) Thomas, Jared Thomas and sons. Ian is also mourned by many wonderful friends, especially Joey, Robert, and Kara and by aunts, uncles, and cousins in the Nieft and Thomas families.

A celebration of his life will be held on Tuesday, September 22, 2020 from 4 - 7 PM at Newcomer - Green Bay Chapel, 340 S. Monroe Avenue, Green Bay. A sharing of memories will follow at 7 PM. The family encourages you to bring a photo of Ian to share with them. To share a memory or for directions please visit www.NewcomerGreenBay.com.
