Hugh A. Rowley, 84, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 21, 2023. Following a whirlwind romance, Hugh eloped with his sweetheart, Gayle Jensen, for a wedding on the Vegas strip. Their fairytale wedding was followed by sixty years of love, unity, and devotion. He has left a living legacy of five children (Carol, Steven, Jennifer, Joleene, and Sharon), twenty grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
Hugh will be remembered for his devotion and service to God, family, church, and community. He was known for his love and acceptance of everyone he met. As a lifelong, active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Hugh served a 3-year voluntary mission to Argentina and countless local church callings. He joyed in his service to the local Spanish and Hmong populations. Hugh was a serial entrepreneur, ballroom dancer, youth sports coach, community servant, and quick-witted character always sure to put people at ease and make friends with all.
Hugh is survived by his wife Gayle and four children. He is also survived by his brother Grant and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A special thank you to Odd Fellows Nursing Home, AseraCare Hospice, and Dr. Mark Jenson of Dousman Clinic.
