Hudson "Bud" S. Witz, Sr., age 87, of Green Bay, passed away Friday, December 30, 2016. He was born July 9, 1929 in Bergen, WI, son of the late Jesse and Henrietta (Hotchkiss) Witz.
Bud enlisted in the US Army, January 6, 1948. He served his country with honor during the Korean War and retired September 30, 1965. After his discharge from the Army, Bud worked as a maintenance man for senior citizen apartments. In 1990, he relocated to Gainesville, FL where he worked in maintenance for the Hilton hotel until 1994 and later as a part-time cleaner. Bud married Katherine Baker in Florida, June 23, 2003 and they shared 13 years of marriage.
Bud and Katherine loved to travel. He enjoyed playing cards, fishing and cheering on the Green Bay Packers. Bud looked forward to family get-togethers and was a loving husband and proud dad, grandpa and great-grandpa. His kind heart and sense of humor will be missed by family and friends.
Bud is survived by his wife, Katherine; 3 sons: Hudson Smith Witz, Jr. and Jesse (Pam) Witz, both of NC and Scott (Missy) Baker; 3 daughters: Laurie (Ron) Cutter of Fond du Lac, WI, Lisa Stoffel of West Bend, WI and Lynn (Ron) Phillips of Bothell, WA; 10 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held at ST. AGNES PARISH (1484 9th St., Green Bay, WI), Friday, January 6, 2017 from 9 to 10:45 AM. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 AM with Fr. Patrick Beno officiating and full
