Howard E. Dunlap, 85, Howard, passed away on Monday, September 29, 2014.
He was born on December 1, 1928, to Charles & Augusta (Meyer) Dunlap.
Howard attended Alma Center High School; he later attended Eau Claire State Teachers College where he majored in music.
He married Amy Olson in 1950. She preceded him in death on January 13, 1982.
Howard was drafted into the U.S. Army in 1952, and served during the Korean War. He served in the 122nd infantry at Fort Benning, GA, and played trumpet for the Honor Guard Band.
He later married Angeline "June" Wolfe on June 9, 1984, they celebrated their 30th anniversary this past June.
Music was one of Howard's passions. He was known for his sense of humor and he lived to enjoy life to the fullest.
He is survived by his wife, June; son, Bruce Dunlap; step-daughters, Cherie (Chris) Hall, Lisa (John Krueger) Woznick, and Jodi (Aurel) Goglin; step-grandchildren, Jamie (Ken) Mauer, Nathan, Austin and Dylan Goglin; step great-grandchildren, Gretchen & Alexa Mauer;nieces and nephews, Paul Lathrop, Rick (Maxine) Lathrop, Pam (Hugo) Scala and special niece, Barb (Jerry) Frost.
He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Gordon (Blondine) Dunlap; and sister, Ruth (Stewart) Lathrop.
Friends may call from 2:00pm until 4:00pm on Thursday, October 2, 2014, at Newcomer Funeral Home, 340 S. Monroe Ave., Green Bay *(Monroe Ave., is closed. Access to funeral home is available off Madison St., One Block West of Monroe Ave., or Crooks St.)* A funeral service will be held at 4:00pm on Thursday at the funeral home, followed by military honors. Entombment will be at Nicolet Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.
