Herman Charles Bader

February 2, 1929 — March 27, 2021

Herman Charles "Chuck" Bader, age 92, of Green Bay, passed away peacefully at his home, Saturday, March 27, 2021, surrounded by his loving family. He was born February 2 in Duvall, WI, son of the late Steven and Rose (Dupont) Bader.

Chuck graduated from Brussels High School and went on to study at UW-Stout. Chuck was a proud member of the Red Arrow Division of the Army National Guard, where he honorably served his country for 2 years. Chuck married Muriel Vandevelde, November 10, 1948 and they shared 31 years of marriage before she passed away in 1980. Chuck was employed as a mechanics instructor at the Green Bay Correctional Institute for 28 dedicated years and also taught at NWTC for 5 years.

Chuck's great passions in life were his family, dancing, traveling, cars and trips to the casino (in that order!)

Chuck is survived by his children: Christine (Dennis) Bricco, Debra (Dale) Rader and Michael (fiancé, Julie Selissen) Bader; 9 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; his sister, Rita Bader; sister-in-law, Betty Bader; special friend, Jayne Heinrich and his Tuesday morning breakfast buddies, Ken and Tom.

He was preceded by his parents, his wife, Muriel and brothers, Anthony and Clayton Bader.

A celebration of Chuck's life will be held by his family at a later date.

Chuck's family would like to extend their gratitude to Unity Hospice as well as to Dr. Mark Jenson for their compassion and care.
